Established in 2002

Blade Runner was established in 2002 by the employment department of the Cranbrook Society for Community Living (now NEXUS Community Support Society), a registered charity. Expanding rapidly, by 2009 we designed, built and opened our own building.

After two-decades in business, we are busier than ever. This is thanks to the commitment of our team, our communities and the people we employ.

Our interesting facts

• owned and operated as a social enterprise by NEXUS Community Support Society - a registered charity dedicated to the support and advocacy of those with diverse abilities
• our original location was in a small garage of our former Administration building
• after establishing ourselves, we moved into the Community Living Center
• in 2009 we purchased a specialized cross-cutting shredder
• our best year, we shredded over 206,000 pounds of paper
• we employ, educate and train those with diverse abilities
• we have three shredders, two trailers and three vehicles
• we are supported by over 400 customers
• we are care about the environment - we recycle all destroyed materials accordingly
• we are proud of what we do
